Total Deaths and Recoveries

Regrettably, we report 61 more COVID-19 related deaths: 14 from Eastern Cape, 21 from the Free State, 11 from KwaZulu Natal, 4 from Gauteng and 11 from Northern Cape. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 18 370. Of the 61 deaths reported today, 5 were reported to have occurred in the past 24-48 hours: 2 in the Free State and 3 in Gauteng.

We extend our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health- care workers that treated the deceased patients.

Our recoveries now stand at 629 260 which translates to a recovery rate of 90%
