Deaths and Recoveries

Today, a further 311 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 1, Free State 21, Gauteng 21, Kwa-Zulu Natal 138, Limpopo 43, Mpumalanga 6, North West 65, Northern Cape 3 and Western Cape 13, which brings the total to 52 035 deaths. Some provinces have undertaken data verification processes backdated to December 2020- during this process additional data has been captured and recorded. We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.

Our cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 461 196 representing a recovery rate of 95%.
